New Rector

An important announcement was made at St Andrews and St Peters recently.

As you will be aware, St Andrews, Prestonpans and St Peters Musselburgh have recently advertised the post of Rector of the linked parishes.

Two candidates were recently interviewed for this position.

The Interview Panel made a unanimous recommendation to the joint Vestries meeting. The Vestries unanimously accepted that recommendation and passed on their view to Bishop Brian.

So the Bishop has been in touch with Andy Keulemans and, subject to the satisfactory completion of Canonical process (Disclosure Scotland, etc), he (the Bishop) will be appointing Andy Keulemans as Rector of St Andrews and St Peters.
Andy has accepted the Bishops offer.

Andy is known to St Peters folk through the monthly Daybreak services, of which he has been a key part. He is currently Chaplain of Loretto School. Prior to this, he has five years experience in two churches in the Church in Wales in the Wrexham area.

Andy's wife Sharon is a primary school teacher, though currently working on the admin side of a local nursery.

Children Matthew and Eleanor attend Burgh Primary School.

He currently lives with his family in Loretto School accommodation in Pinkie House. They will need to leave this accommodation in July, and will probably move into the Rectory at that point.

His formal start to the job is likely to begin with a service of collation at the beginning of September.

Let's thank God for this news, and pray for Andy and the family as they leave Loretto and prepare to move into new roles. Let's also pray for ourselves as we welcome Andy and look forward to working with him.  Let's pray too for the working out of the various detailed checks and discussions over the coming months.
